Style- Inspired by a Katie Holmes Outfit

Today I went with my mother and brother to work on our community garden plot... NOT in this outfit, of course! It was a fun workout- I shoveled mulch and pulled weeds for about an hour.

Another thing I did was alter these jeans- I took a seam down the inside of the legs, converting the ugly over-loose bootcut into a straight peg leg. I'm wearing them rolled in a three inch cuff.

Style- Innocence

Wow, the wind is wildly blasting right now... I had to take this photo early in the morning before it could really start up.

Style- Soaking Up Sunlight After Rain

It was chilly out there, but the sun doth shine and the wind durst not bite through my sweater. I remain joyous (especially because tomorrow will be sunny and 80 degrees Fahrenheit- time to bring out the shorts!)

Style- Tut Tut, Looks Like Rain!

Only time for a quick post today. The morning started out rainy as the family went to do grocery shopping, but cleared out at midday.
In other news, the demise of Blockbuster means I get to see Coco Before Chanel! Very much looking forward to it. We bought the DVD for only five dollars- I was actually quite surprised to see it there.

Style- To the movies!

My mother, a friend of her's, and I went to see The Iron Lady today. It was really, really good; although the vein was more "Ra ra Margaret Thatcher!" than "Lady Thatcher did X,Y, and Z. X bombed. Y and Z were an excellent success!"
Margaret Thatcher- I mean, Meryl Streep- was awesome. AWESOME. There are not words in existence to convey how incredible her performance was.
I would definitely recommend it.

Style- Black and White and Pure and Happy

I had to take my shoes off to do this- they would fall off every time I jumped. Even a California winter is chilly- right now the grass is rich in dew and the sun is behind a thick silver blanket of clouds, so my feet were ice by the time we (my brother, photographer extraordinaire, and I) were done.

Sketch inspired by Lady Dior Noir Affair

I love this short- it's fascinating. Its story changes for me every time I watch it. And in honor of it, I present my sketch:

And of course the navy Dior handbag!

Style- Military Inspired

Old Navy jacket, Eddie Bauer shorts, Target boots, assorted bracelets
As you can see, I've been wearing my new boots often- I'm breaking them in.
We had odd weather this morning: brisk in the morning, heating up at noon and cooling again at sundown.

Arkwork- Tribal Fashion Sketches

I'm pushing my mother toward another shopping excursion to Saver's- the more often one goes, the more likely one is to find something awesome. These are some sketches of what I hope to find (and one way I would style it).

First off, I love safari- and military-inspired clothes. I have a thing for olive. Despite apparently being a "Winter" in color palette, olive brings my skin, hair, and eyes to life.

I already own the shirt, which I wore last week. Pleated, high waisted olive pants, jade alligator or python print belt, mauve socks with short black gladiator sandals

Next, a quirky look: slim black vest over multicolored ethnic print bikini top over navy tissue tee. Yes, those pants are a fast sketch of Balenciaga Spring 2010. (I wish!) Suede lace up wedges and perforated black leather gloves (they came up grey in the photo).
