I finished my arm-warmers last night! It's my first ever attempt at such a project, and the design is appropriately simple: fold the fabric in half, stitch closed with a bit of contour at the wrist. Rip open the hole for the thumb, and stitch down both sides so they don't unravel. Hem both ends and sew a ruffle at the end opposite the thumb hole.
Yesterday it poured cats and dogs, all screaming bloody murder on their way down. I wasn't able to take any photos, so I'm wearing the same thing today so I can snap a picture: a draped black tee, black jeans, black moto-boots, a black feather headband a silver watch, two pearl necklaces and a plum cheek heart.
I have a camera. I have a tripod in the absence of a little brother. But my mother has taken the SD card with her, probably unwittingly if it's inside its port in her computer, to her hair appointment and I will have to wait until she comes back. Ah, the art of patience...
EDIT: Please excuse the blurriness. The light was fading as we shot.
My choker-and-fingerless gloves project is on hold as my mum has some stuff happening in her life... but! we may be able to work on it today.
Anyway. On to the main subject.
It's weird, the stranger my makeup is the happier I am. Wearing brown- or pink-tone "natural look" makeup makes me feel blah. So my mission is to find a happy medium betwixt that and my Firebird Masque look. This is one solution!
On second thoughts the black line should have gone on the other side of the heart, but I was masking an imperfect line - next time if I have the same problem I'll draw completely around the heart.
Today's makeup inspired by this photo, of Emilie Autumn-
There was no style post on Saturday, and maybe not today and tomorrow either, as I'm working feverishly on a sewing project. I'm making a pair of arm warmers or fingerless gloves and a choker out of white velour and chiffon. So I basically wear an old tee and older jeans. When I'm done, I'll post photographs of my project.
