Haha, yes... that's an Opuntia, or prickly pear, cactus. Later this summer it will bear thorny, succulent, sweet violet fruits the size of apples, which we will harvest, soak, skin, and either eat them whole or make a variety of syrups and jams out of them. (Basically, anything that can be done with peaches or pears, can be done with these.)
All of your outfits this week are simply blowing me away! And making me mad that where I live, there is nothing a fraction so pretty in thrift stores (not many nice dressers around here... But I've never tried thrifting in L.A. - might be better there). Seriously, you have nailed dark sophistication.
Wow, thank you! I have a favorite thrift shop that I know carries higher quality items. The equation: the better the neighborhood= the better the donations= the higher the prices. :P I tend to shop in upper middle class areas. And a lot during October!
Gorgeous! The whole outfit is wonderful, loving your hair and the cut of the skirt... possibly the most classy choker-wearing I've ever seen.
ReplyDeleteAw, thank you! Chokers are my favorite necklace type... I have a very long neck that works well with them. :)
Deletelovely. your posts are really awesome this week. also, i dont know how I didn't notice that gigantic cactus before

The skirt looks great and the choker is so beautiful. I think you could pull of almost anything with your beauty!
ReplyDeleteThank you, you're so sweet!
DeleteWoooow! This outfit is stunning! Your curves are gorgeous (if that isn't too creepy to hear). :3
ReplyDeleteNope, lovely and not creepy! I'm curvy and I know it... *claps my hands* XD
